Master Alchemist and Potion Crafter, she also is quickly making a name for herself (unintentionally) as a Master Surgeon the towns she has traveled through so far.
Tall and fair skinned, Brienne is considered by many to be beautiful, although she doesn’t see it. With her long black hair, grey eyes, and 6’2 frame; she is indeed young, striking and strong, but quiet. While she doesn’t shy away from crowds and people, she prefers the quiet and can often be found studying her books, or cultivating herbs and other plants for her profession.
She has a cozy house that her grandfather built on the outskirts of the city of Nal, where she spends most of her time researching and crafting the potions she offers for sale and trade.
Alchemist by inheritance, she uses recipes that her grandfather passed down to her, and cherishes his old notebooks and journals. He taught her not only how to read and write, but most of what he knew of alchemy and quality potion-crafting, and chirurgery and first aid as well. She quickly took over the majority of the actual work in the shop and, with her grandfather’s guidance over the years, took his place as Master crafter and potions mistress.
Once her grandfather died, Brienne discovered that he had left her a significant inheritance, and she began traveling to nearby towns periodically to expand her limited knowledge of the area, and her somewhat vast knowledge of her craft. She brings her potions kit with her, transported by her tinker’s wagon and sturdy horse – Charles; which allows her to set up a small shop for trade and sale wherever she travels.
She is considering relocating and opening a permanent shop-location at one of the larger cities in the area, as she feels her potions and remedies could be much more useful and more in-demand with a larger population. She also seeks to increase her knowledge of herbology, potion crafting and medicine; and dutifully records all of her experimentation and discoveries in her journals, much like her grandfather did.
Her experimentation with potion crafting and alchemy has left her immune to the vast majority of poisons, and with a highly developed sense of taste. She relies on her practiced eye, knowing how the potions appear, and on her concentrated palette to determine the quality of her potions, as the same experimentation has left her with no sense of smell whatsoever.
She believes magic exists, and is curious about how it could apply to her potions and crafts, but appears to have no talent for it so far. She is ambivalent towards deity, acknowledging that there are higher powers, but she does not follow a specific god.
